Matt Gallagher, who maintains the excellent Cocoa with Love blog, has an interesting post today on the differences between the Simula and Smalltalk object models including a short discussion of the history of the two models. Objective-C uses the Smalltalk object model, most other compiled OO languages today (C++, Java, C#) follow the Simula model.
